Famously Hot Sweepstakes
COLUMBIA, SC (August 17, 2011) -The Main Street Latin Festival and the Jubilee: Festival of Heritage will be rocking "Famously Hot" downtown Columbia, SC on August 27, 2011. Both festival organizations (Historic Columbia Foundation and GG Productions) have teamed up with the Columbia Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau to launch a "Famously Hot" Festival Sweepstakes.  The sweepstakes, which runs through August 22, can be found at http://www.columbiacvb.com
/festivalsweepstakes.  The prize pack is valued at $250 and includes a night stay at the Marriott Columbia Downtown Hotel.

The "Famously Hot" Festival Sweepstakes' Winner Will Receive:

  • 4 tickets for a tour of the Mann-Simons Site at the Jubilee: Festival of Heritage,
  • 2 tickets for a bus tour of African-American heritage sites (to be redeemed the day of Jubilee: Festival of Heritage),
  • 4 Historic House Museum Tour tickets for any Historic Columbia Foundation (value House Museum (can be redeemed at a later date, value $24),
  • A gift from the Historic Columbia Foundation Museum Shop (value $25),
  • Two tickets to the Main Street Latin Festival After Party (beginning at 9 pm on 8/27) to enjoy a special performance by Tito Nieves and his orchestra (two general admission tickets, value $90)
  •  A one-night stay at the Marriott Downtown Columbia Hotel (includes room rate and taxes - add ons such as room service are not included, value $99).

About Jubilee: Festival of Heritage
Celebrating the rich cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit of Celia Mann and her descendants - who lived and worked on the same property for more than 140 years -  Jubilee: Festival of Heritage is celebrating its 33rd Anniversary this year.  This free, family-friendly Historic Columbia Foundation event is held on the grounds of the historic Mann-Simons Site, 1403 Richland Street (at Marion) on Saturday, August 27 from 11 am - 5 pm. This year's event includes special performances from Drink Small and the Benedict College Concert Choir, as well as R&B, jazz, blues and gospel. Skilled artists and craftsmen, hands-on demonstrations, and vendors will also be a part of the festivities.  Tours of the Mann-Simons Site, bus tours of African-American heritage sites, and the Modjeska Simkins property will be offered throughout the day.  More information can be found at http://www.historiccolumbia.org
