Congaree Wetlands Canoe Trip
Address: 100 National Park Road, Hopkins, SC 29061
Times: From: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Venue: Congaree National Park
As part of our announcement of this year's Wetland Treasures, Carolina Wetlands Association invite you to a canoe tour of one of the Carolinas’ two Wetlands of International Importance! Encompassing more than 26,000 acres of mostly floodplain forest, Congaree features the largest expanse of southern old-growth bottomland forest remaining in the U.S. This dynamic floodplain ecosystem is sustained by flows from the Congaree River, which forms the Park’s southern border, and Cedar Creek, which flows through the Park. We will paddle Cedar Creek along with Congaree National Park rangers/interpretive staff. Canoes will be provided free of charge by the National Park Service. Registration is limited to 15 people so act quickly!
