Join us for Columbia's first Open Streets celebration and see how we transform three blocks into a car-free open space for enjoying physical activity and community! Open Streets initiatives temporarily close a street to automobile traffic so that people may use the street for just about any activity but driving - walking, bicycling, playing, and meeting neighbors. is sponsored by the city of Columbia as part of a broader effort to promote safe walking and biking across the city. Open Streets is more than a festival - it's a street transformation.

Open Streets events are held in cities across the country The event schedule will include local artists and organizations hosting variety of activities, and although different from the typical festival, it is a unique opportunity to experience the street like a "paved park."
