South Carolina Railroad Museum

How would you like to take your children or grandchildren for a ride on a real passenger train, visit a red caboose or an authentic dining car, or even a Pullman car that once ferried earlier generations across the country?

YOU CAN!   Come spend an afternoon at the South Carolina Railroad Museum. There's something for everyone! Come see freight cars, passenger cars, and even a real steam engine on display.

And best of all, you can ride the train!
 

2010 Summer Schedule
Dates: Open each Saturday June 5 through August 28
Open: 9:30 am until 3:30 pm
Train Departure Times: 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm

2010 Fall Schedule
Dates: Saturdays September 4 & 18,
October 2 (Caboose Day)
Open: 9:30 am until 3:30 pm
Train Departure Times: 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm

Train Ride Details:
The train ride is a 10 mile round trip on the Museum's railroad lasting about 1 hour. There are no restrooms on board the train.

Special Event Days:
The special event days are as follows:

March 27 and April 3, 2010 - Easter Bunny Eggspress Trains

2010 Steam Train Days October 16, 17, 23 and 24
Advanced reservations are highly recommended to reserve your space on the train. All tickets $15.00 each. No First Class or cabooses operated on these days. Trips will last about one hour for a 7 mile round trip ride. Trains will be operated by Flagg Coal Company #75 an operating coal fired 0-4-0 steam engine.

November 27 - Santa Trains 2010
December 4 and 11 - Santa Trains 2010

Special Event Trains may operate on a different schedule than that of the Regular Open and Train Ride Days schedule.
