Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity to bring 2012 Southern Regional Convention to Columbia, SC

Columbia, SC - (December 20, 2010) - The Columbia Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau would like to announce Columbia being the host city for the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity's 2012 Southern Regional Convention. The event will be held March 22 - 25, 2012 and is expected to have approximately more than $300,000 in local economic impact.

Columbia was chosen over Hilton Head to host the 2012 Southern Regional Convention.

The group has requested approximately 1200 room nights with the Hilton Columbia Center, the Columbia Marriott Hotel and the Hampton Inn Downtown being selected for accommodations. The Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center has been chosen as the meeting facility.
