This weekend, Columbia is packed with plenty of things to do - from music and art festivals, a free guided tour of the South Carolina State House or a local farmer's market on downtown Main Street. Here are some of our famously hot highlights:

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2


ARTS & DRAUGHTS at COLUMBIA MUSEUM OF ART
The Columbia Museum of Art's quarterly Arts & Draughts kicks off the annual Free Times Music Crawl. Local bands take over the Museum and Boyd Plaza for a night an interactive party featuring live music, beer tastings, a tour of the Museum's collection, and trivia. Art, Drink and Be Happy! Tickets, $8.

TAPP'S ART CENTER FIRST ANNIVERSARY WINE FESTIVAL 
Celebrate the first anniversary of Tapp's Art Center with a little wine on Main Street. The event will feature wine tastings by country, music by Reggie Sullivan, Eboni Ramm, The Riyen Roots of Asheville, NC and Sidestreet Reny of Portland, OR. Main Street's favorite restaurants, including Hampton Street Vineyards, Cowboy Brazilian Steakhouse, Villa Tronco, Paradise Ice, Wine Down on Main and The Oak Table will provide food. Tickets are $35/person or $60/couple.

CAMPFIRE CHRONICLES at  CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK
A guided tour through the park doubles as a history lesson as costumed interpreters perform a series of scenes throughout the walk. Tours end with a campfire, marshmallows and good company of park volunteers and staff.  The tour is family-friendly and is handicap accessible. Free admission.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3


SOUTH CAROLINA STATE HOUSE TOURS
The South Carolina State House has extended its usual Monday - Friday guided tours to the first Saturday of each month. This Saturday, November 3 will be the first Saturday the State House will be open for tours. The first tour begins at 9:30 am and will continue hourly on the half hour until 3:30 pm. SODA CITY MARKET on MAIN STREET 
The All Local Farmers Market has moved to Main Street! The market still offers the local Certified South Carolina produce and products, just in a new location -- a first for Main Street in more than 60 years. Free admission.

FARMVILLE at EDVENTURE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

Edventure's third annual Farmville gives children (and adults!) a hands-on experience of the farm to market to table concept. There will be farm machinery, barnyard games, a petting zoo, country crafts and more. Admission is just $5.

18TH ANNUAL COLUMBIA BLUES FESTIVAL
The Columbia Blues Festival is back again! In its 18th year, this free festival brings local blues acts together for a day of music, beer and fun at Martin Luther King, Jr. park. See the full performance schedule.

26TH ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF in FIVE POINTS
What says "fall" more than a cup of warm chili on a cool day? Head down to the 2100 Block of Greene Street in Five Points for over 50 varieties of locally cooked chili. Five Points retailers will also be holding a sidewalk sale. Join us for chili, music, beer and more! Free admission.

2012 FREE TIMES MUSIC CRAWL

PUMPKIN SMASH at RIVERBANKS ZOO
Halloween might be over, but the season is still ripe with pumpkins-and the animals at Riverbanks are ready to celebrate with a pumpkin smash! Zoo animals are given pumpkins to 'smash' and play with, a part of the animal enrichment program designed to encourage and stimulate natural behaviors. Free with zoo admission.

CAMPFIRE CHRONICLES at  CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK 
An interactive guided tour through Congaree National Park that ends with a campfire and marshmallows!

"MUSEUM'S ON USat EDVENTURE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM
Bank of America cardholders get free admission to Edventure the first full weekend of the month. 'Museums on Us' is a Bank of America program that offers its card holders free admission to more than 70 museums nationwide. EdVenture is the only museum in South Carolina chosen to participate in this program. Free admission.

General admission is only $1 to the South Carolina State Museum each first Sunday of the month.
