As the summer season begins to wind down, there are still plenty of entertainment options and opportunities to get out and explore Columbia, SC this weekend, including outdoor concerts and movies, river trips and performances. Here are some of the weekend's highlights taking place July 27 - July 29:
FRIDAY, JULY 27
Movies in the Park at Finlay Park
This week is the last of the summer outdoor movies series presented by the City of Columbia at Finlay Park. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, and get set to wrap up with the series with We Bought a Zoo and relax under the stars. Free admission.
Movie begins at dusk, around 8:00 pm
Music at Sandhill at the Village at Sandhill
Bring the family out for a night of more than shopping and dining at the Village at Sandhill with their summer concert series. This week's feature performer is classic rock band, Rock Candy. Free admission.
ZOOvie Night at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden
Grab your lawn chair and enjoy family-friendly, outdoor movies at the zoo! Concessions will be available for purchase. This week's movie: Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa. $5 admission, $3 for members. Tickets are available at the gate only.
Zoo opens at 7:00 PM, movie starts at dusk.
Le Cafe Jazz at Finlay Park
Every Friday the Skipp Pearson Jazz Foundation presents Le Cafe Jazz at Finlay Park, which offers an indoor and outdoor bistro with French and American cuisine, featuring a happy hour piano jazz set, followed by a professional jazz set with the house band and an open jam session. Alternicirque at Art Bar
Every fourth Friday, Alternacirque, Columbia's funky alternative circus arts performance company, performs at the eclectic downtown Art Bar. The two performances are free to attend with no cover charge.

SATURDAY, JULY 28
Broad River - St. Andrews Music Festival at St. Andrews Park
The 3 Rivers Music Festival, in partnership with the Richland County Commission and Council Member Joyce Dickerson, will host the First Annual Broad River ' St. Andrews Communities Music Festival. Performances include Tokyo Joe (Rock), Terence Young (Jazz) and Cheri Maree (R&B). Enjoy a variety of food, merchant vendors, inflatables, face painting and much more. Bring the family and friends to the newly renovated green space and ball fields of St. Andrews Park and feel the music. Free admission.

"Little Princess" at Midlands Technical College Theatre - Harbison Campus
Chapin Community Theatre presents "Little Princess," the classic story of Sara Crews, a little girl born in India who is sent to a London private school after her mother dies.
