It's fall and the footballs are flying in Famously Hot Columbia, SC. Each autumn in the Midlands brings relief from the summer heat as well as our local traditions. One of the newest, and fast growing, additions is the South Carolina Department of Agriculture's Midlands Fall Plant and Flower Festival held at the South Carolina State Farmers Market in West Columbia. This free, family-friendly event, runs September 28-30 this year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday & Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

But, it's not just plants and flowers. This annual signature Columbia event features locally grown and seasonal produce as well as plants and flowers, lawn decorations for the gardening enthusiast, and locally produced Specialty Foods. As always, there's free parking and free admission. Come out and join us! Don't forget, the Market is open for business year round. The farmers market is as much about eating and entertaining inside as it is about adding color outside. So, visit the Midlands Plant and Flower Festival for your fall gardening and decorating needs for the inside and outside then come back often for all the produce and products throughout the year.
