Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday this year, which means this patriotic holiday will become a week long celebration instead of a one-day-only event. Spanning from June 30 to July 7 here is a list of plenty of 'famously hot' Fourth events and fireworks shows throughout the next seven days:


4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray
The 4thof July Celebration & Boat Parade on Lake Murray will take place on Saturday, June 30. Lake Murray will be full of over 100 boats donning their best red, white and blue décor for a boat parade beginning at 12:30 pm led by the Southern Patriot Tour Boat. Fireworks will be launched at dusk (or around 9:15 pm) from Dreher Island and Spence Island, with prime viewing spots at Dreher Island State Park or the Lake Murray Dam park. Board the Spirit of Lake Murray on SaturdayJune 30 to see the fireworks from a more formal location on their Firework Cruise. The boat sets sail at 7:30 pmand docks around 10:30 pm. Tickets are $65/person and include dinner and live entertainment; no child tickets available. Call 803.730.3044 for more information or visit their website to purchase tickets

Fireworks at the Columbia Blowfish Baseball Game
25th Annual Carolina Celebration of Liberty
On Sunday, July 1stop by the First Baptist Church for their 25th Annual Carolina Celebration of Liberty. Celebration of Liberty will have two presentations on the 1stat 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Admission is free but tickets are required. Call 803.217.3250 to reserve your free ticket.


River Runner's Fourth of July Congaree Paddle Trips
River Runner has three Fourth of July Congaree paddle trips planned at 9:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 4:00 pm. The cost is $25/person. Registration required by June 27. Call 803.771.0353 or email to register for one of the tours.
The Lexington County Peach Festival will be held at the Gilbert Community Park for its 54th year. Festivities kick off at 8:30 am and stretch through the night until around 10:00 pm. Visit their website for a full list of activities.

Saluda Shoals Park hosts the Star Spangled Symphonic Salute, a concert by the Lake Murray Symphonic Orchestra, beginning at 8:30 pm. Bring the family early and enjoy a pre-concert outdoor picnic.  For more information about the concert call 803.400.3540 or email. Fireworks at the Columbia Blowfish Baseball Game 
Spend the evening at the Columbia Blowfish v. Florence Redwolves game at Capital City Stadium. The game begins at 7:05 and there will be fireworks following the game. Freedom Festival at the Village at Sandhill
This evening full of carnival rides and fireworks will feature a free concert by country music star Robbie McDowell. Check out their website for more information.


Freedom Festival at Finlay Park
To wrap up the week of patriotic activities, Finlay Park will host its annual Freedom Festival  on July 7 from 1:00 pm ' 7:00 pm. There will be rides, music, a petting zoo and fireworks! Bring the whole family down to the park for this free celebration. The regularly scheduled Sizzlin' Summer Concert Series, featuring The Maxx, will continue at 7:00 pm.
