If you've been following us lately, you know that we love the holidays in Columbia, SC! Frame of Mind and City Center Partnership's Main Street do too, and they are presenting Mingle & Jingle on Main as a part of First Thursdays on Main, showcasing the businesses of Columbia's Main Street. We've got your guide on what to do, what to eat and where to party Thursday night.
What to do?
This First Thursday, visit Boyd Plaza in front of the Columbia Museum of Art to skate at the first ever Main Street Ice. Browse the art galleries in S&S Art Supply, Frame of Mind, Wine Down on Main, Tapp's Art Center and Anastasia & Friends. Classic and custom cars with a holiday twist will "Cruise In" and line Main Street. Enjoy a Christmas Open House and discounts on Christmas ornaments at Something Special Florist.
Taste the holidays with Paradise Ice's seasonal flavors - eggnog, peppermint and gingerbread. Cowboy Brazilian Steakhouse will have their usual buffet, set up right on the Main Street sidewalk. Enjoy hot chocolate sponsored by the Museum of Art's college group, the CMA College Collective. Or, head to Mast General Store for hot apple cider and raspberry jalapeno over cream cheese. Want BBQ? Chef Joe Turkaly will be cooking it up at the Arcade Mall while the Bone-In Artisan BBQ food truck and NNB Barbeque cart will be outside. Other mobile carts/food trucks include 2 Fat 2 Fly, KC's Hotdogs, Crepes & Croissants, and J Gumbo's. If you're more thirsty than hungry, a stop at Wine Down on Main will do the trick!
Where's the entertainment?
DJ Deft Key will be mixing modern dubstep with traditional holiday music outside Frame of Mind. Listen to holiday music from local school bands at Mast General Store. Join Jasper Studios and The Whig for food & dancing in the historic Arcade Mall. Preach Jacobs will be spinning the best in indie hip-hop, soul, funk and more at Sheraton's Rooftop Bar.
