Go on an art crawl
Take in the art, the music, the food and revelry of First Thursday on Main Street! Art will be on display in many shops and galleries along Main Street, while stores and restaurants offer food and specials and DJs get the party started on the street. Here's the full list of showcased artists, participating businesses and entertainment. Free.

Party like an animal
The annual Brew at the Zoo at Riverbanks Zoo & Garden will take you on a suds sippin' safari! Imbibe samples of cold beers, including domestics, imports and specialty microbrews while enjoying live music in the plaza or a stroll through the zoo. Get discounted tickets before Friday at riverbanks.org. Update: General tickets have sold out, but are still available for designated drivers at the door for $15.

Art, drink & be happy!
The semi-regular Arts & Draughts returns, bringing its always fun DIY art projects, live music, beer tastings from The Whig, scavenger hunts and unique perspective tours of the Columbia Museum of Art's collection and and special exhibits, currently Found in Translation: The Geometric Abstraction of Steven Naifeh. $8 general admission.

Tour the South Carolina State House
Monday through Friday and the first Saturday of every month, tour the South Carolina State House starting at 9:30 am
. Each hour on the half hour, you can tour the State House and get a look inside the palmetto state's history, the capitol's architecture, art and more. Self-guided walking tours of the inside and grounds outside of the house are also available. Read our State House blog for a sneak preview. Free.

"Don't call me Shirley"
Airplane!, the 1980 nutty, classic film about a flight that goes wrong, plays at Nickelodeon Theatre this weekend.
