Eat smokin’ barbecue on Friday at Senate’s End
Hosted by the South Carolina Barbeque Association, the Smoke on the Water Barbeque Competition will feature 15 champion barbeque masters competing for a grand prize. Not only will you have access to some of the best barbeque, chili and ribs in the state, but you will also have the opportunity to buy delicious Certified South Carolina food products throughout the day. Bring your family, co-workers, four-legged friends (on leashes!) and lawn chairs to enjoy an afternoon and evening full of great food and music! Free Admission.
Take a happy hour tour of Main Street
Historic Columbia Foundation’s Happy Hour History Tours kick off tonight, with this season’s tours taking place on Main Street. Go on a guided tour of this historic street and discover three centuries of architectural styles, tastes, interests, and aspirations of persons living and working in the state capital. Free beverages and appetizers at each historic stop. $20 for State House Members, $25 Non-members.
Celebrate the return of fall at the South Carolina State Museum
Fall is finally here! Celebrate the cool weather and leaves changing at the SC State Museum’s annual Fall Heritage Festival & Pickin’ Party this Saturday with tasty barbecue and authentic bluegrass sounds. The kids can have fun in the children’s tent with fall activities and crafts, guests can purchase goods from traditional folk artists and craftsmen, and everyone can admire a remarkable collection of antique automobiles on display. Free entry with museum admission or membership.

The Jam Room Music Festival features eclectic music from bands like Son Volt, Spider Bags, Cissokho & Kiara Ba, Mason Jar and Dear Bianca, to name just a few. This year’s festival also features kids’ activities, cycling events, beer and food vendors, and free bicycle valet. Free Admission.
Cheer on your team at the Palmetto Capital City Classic
The South Carolina Bulldogs will play against the Benedict College Tigers at Williams-Brice Stadium for the Palmetto Capital City Classic. Cheer on your team, tailgate and more this Saturday. Tickets cost $25-$35.

Sample Greek culture at Columbia's Greek Festival
Opa! Join the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and celebrate Greek culture at the 27th Annual Greek Festival this weekend. Columbia locals come back each for this festival’s authentic food, entertaining dances and non-stop music. Festival-goers can also browse rare gifts, crafts, jewelry and imported foods for purchase. Free Admission.
