Run in the annual Governor’s Cup
The Governor's Cup Road Race is an established long-distance event that also features a half marathon, an 8K run, 4-mile walk, and Kid's run. The race begins in front of the South Carolina State House and ends outside of the University of South Carolina Horseshoe. Participants move through various historic neighborhoods that include flat terrain as well as rolling hills.

Cook (and eat) some chili!
Calling all chili enthusiasts! This Saturday, Five Points will be hosting its 27th Annual Chili Cook Off. Not only can you enjoy a fun-filled, family friendly day of great music, chili and beverages, but you will be supporting a great cause as all proceeds go to the HOPE Center and Camp Kemo.

Say goodbye to Halloween at the Zoo
Take a trip to the Zoo and watch as Riverbanks' mammals, reptiles, birds and fish enjoy a post-Halloween treat during the Zoo's annual Pumpkin Smash. Pumpkins will be distributed throughout the day as a form of animal enrichment used daily at the Zoo to encourage natural behaviors.

Take a trip back in time
Join Tapp’s Arts Center for a night in the roaring 20s! Complete with blackjack tables, cabaret dancers, jazz music and more. Or watch an award-winning documentary about the 1963 Civil Rights Movemement through the Columbia SC 63 initiative.
