Take a cemetery tour
What's better than enjoying summer nights outdoors? Spend time on Thursday night at the Elmwood Cemetery, delving into the history of burials and some of Columbia, SC's 19th and 20th century families. General admission is $10.

Catch a movie while hanging out at Riverbanks Zoo! Tonight's ZOOvie will be Despicable Me, the family movie full of funny jokes and little minions. But movies continue each Friday in August. Tickets are $5.00.

Go nuts at the South Carolina Peanut Party
It's a party, but with peanuts! Boiled peanuts in fact, a Southern obsession. The annual South Carolina Peanut Party kicks off Thursday and Friday nights, but the main attraction is Saturday where cauldrons of peanuts, amusement rides, live music, a parade and more will let you experience this small town's Southern tradition. Free.

(Block) party some more
It's a block party in the heart of The Vista! Here's the rundown: live bands, a craft beer truck outside, 60 taps at World of BeerWild Hare's barbecue competition, cornhole, a dunk tank. Free.


Send out summer with an outdoor concert at Finlay Park
Saturday night is the last concert for the City of Columbia's summer concert series at Finlay Park. Enjoy music from the The Boomers, a variety band that is sure to put you in a nostalgic, lively mood with oldies tunes and rock 'n roll favorites. Free.
